Clinical Care Manager

Formal Qualifications Required;

  • Registered Nurse with current Registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum 5 years post graduation experience in an Aged Care setting in a similar role

Essential Knowledge and Competencies Required;           

  • Proven organisational skills, ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • Capacity to provide clinical leadership within a complex environment.
  • Thorough attention to detail
  • Robust experience and knowledge of ACFI management
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated history of successfully leading and mentoring clinical staff for superior performance
  • Demonstrated ability to manage culture and change
  • Demonstrated thorough understanding of the Aged Care sector, legislation, funding and accreditation
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, public speaking and presentation capabilities
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office and ability to learn other programs quickly

The Role

Orana Gardens Ltd is a leading and established aged care provider based in the Central West , city of Dubbo. Our ongoing and strong commitment to the provision of clinical care will be advanced by the newly created role of Clinical Care Manager.

As a Clinical Care Manager your primary responsibility will be to manage the day to day care and clinical governance of our 125 bed facility.

Utilising your extensive clinical management experience, you will motivate, lead and enhance the team to ensure standards of excellence are maintained.

You will lead by example to set the standard of delivery of person-centred care, maintaining the highest standard of ongoing assessment, care planning, evaluation and clinical governance and ensuring accreditation standards are met and maintained.

Position Objectives

The Clinical Nurse of Orana Gardens Ltd will be responsible for:

  • In consultation with the Facility Manager provide leadership, direction, co-ordination and efficient management of clinical Services in accordance with Orana Gardens Ltd ’s Vision, Mission and Statement of Values;
  • Full clinical oversight of the facility, including clinical governance and continuous quality improvement
  • Leadership, development and direction of the clinical team
  • A model of quality care that meets the expectations of our residents and other stakeholders through person centred care and strong clinical expertise
  • An engaging culture of excellence and best practice that is promoted through your own modelled behaviour
  • Learning outcomes by identifying clinical skills gaps and working together with the Facility Manager to ensure education, training and development are in place
  • Assist the Facility Manager in ensuring compliance with the Aged Care and Quality Standards
  • Assist the Facility Manager to ensure the future viability of Orana Gardens Ltd by compliance with a range of applicable Government Legislation (as amended)

The organisation

Located in the attractive Central West, Orana Gardens offers a variety of aged care options, providing independent retirement living and all levels of residential aged care for the past 30 years in Dubbo, NSW.  Orana Gardens provides a relaxed, resident engaging setting where families are made to feel welcome and residents feel right at home.  There are 125 places within the facility, including respite and dementia care services.

The role

The role of Facility Manager is suited to an individual with the initiative, motivation and passion required to provide outstanding resident care. This leader should be proud of the important role they have in the lives of their residents and the team they foster.  

Reporting to the CEO of the organisation, the Facility Manager we are seeking has the following skills and attributes:

  • Experience leading a team of 100+ within a residential aged care environment where there is a team commitment of a ‘can do’ attitude and a culture of accountability
  • High level of competency in Aged Care Quality Standards and experience in review, improvement and ongoing management of how they are practically managed in a residential care environment
  • Human resource management experience including developing performance plans, EA negotiation, resourceful rostering, WHS and risk management and developing and managing return-to-work programs
  • Financial and budget management including appropriate levels of cost control and resource costs
  • Leading your management team to assist in the formulation of development plans, management philosophy and operational policies and procedures for the overall care management  
  • Exceptional time management skills and an ability to juggle competing priorities daily
  • Outstanding stakeholder relationships both internally and outside of the organisation

Your desire to achieve outcomes in relation to modern best practice services to residents will be rewarded through a highly competitive remuneration package.  Relocation assistance is also available.

Qualifications in management, human resource management or related discipline is required.  Experience within aged care is an essential part of this role and can be through non-clinical management experience.

Volunteer Bus Driver

Orana Gardens is looking for a Volunteer Bus Driver!

This is a great opportunity to share your abilities and enhance the lives of our seniors!

The Volunteer bus driver would need a MR (medium rigid) license along with a good sense of humour!

The men from our Estate go out to lunch the second Tuesday of each month in and around Dubbo. The outing lasts from 11:30-2pm approximately as residents usually go to a hotel/club for lunch.

The Estate residents occasionally like a short trip out of town four or five per year. They leave at around 9.00am and return around 3.30pm or 4.00pm from these trips.

If you do not already have a police certificate, you will need to print and fill in a copy of an Australian Federal Police (AFP) Application for a National Police Check.

Complete the form, attach your 100 points of identification with your payment of $43.00 (made payable to the “Australian Federal Police”) and send to:
